My name is Edona Desku, and I have been working with great passion as an orthoptist for many years. My professional journey began with an apprenticeship as a certified optician (EFZ) at Fielmann in Langenthal, where I discovered my enthusiasm for vision and optics. To deepen my expertise, I completed the training to become a certified orthoptist at the Eye Clinic of the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) and the Center for Health Professions Education (ZAG) in Winterthur. This intensive training allowed me to acquire valuable knowledge in diagnosing and treating visual impairments, strabismus, and eye muscle disorders. During my training, I met Stefan Langenegger, and we already enjoyed working together back then. We are looking forward to working together again in the future.
Throughout my professional career, I have worked for Arztpraxen Net at various locations, particularly at the Eye Center with Dr. Duba and at the Vista Eye Clinic. These experiences allowed me to gain broad expertise in various areas of orthoptics and to further develop my working style and patience in dealing with patients.
Working with children and adolescents is especially important to me. Their natural curiosity and openness enrich my daily work. It is very important to me to create a trusting and calming atmosphere for young patients, where they can feel comfortable and safe. With great empathy, I respond to their individual needs and support them on their journey to better vision.
I am very much looking forward to welcoming you and your family to our practice and to working together to ensure the best possible care for your eyes.
