Introduction:

Dr. Hammer welcomes new patients from the age of 10.

He offers the full range of general ophthalmology services, with particular expertise in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery.

He currently holds the position of Senior Physician in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery at Swiss Visio Montchoisi, where he is actively involved in the training of assistant physicians and clinic managers.

Training:

Dr Hammer obtained his medical degree from the University of Geneva (UNIGE) in 2012, followed by a Doctorate in Medical Sciences (MD-PhD ) in cornea and refractive surgery at the same institution.

He then completed his clinical training in ophthalmology at the Hôpital Ophtalmique Jules-Gonin in Lausanne, before going on to specialize in ophthalmic surgery at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London (2018-2023), where he held the prestigious positions of Cataract Fellow and Cornea Fellow, before being appointed Bank Consultant ophthalmologist in the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Department.

Dr Hammer completed a Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery (PGDip CRS) with distinction at the University of Ulster (Northern Ireland), and was awarded the CertLRS by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, an essential qualification for the practice of refractive surgery in the UK. He also holds the FEBOS-CR diploma, a high-level European qualification in cataract and refractive surgery (EBO-ESCRS).

The author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications, he also acts as a reviewer for the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Winner of several international awards, Dr Hammer remains actively committed to medical research in order to offer his patients the most modern techniques and the best surgical results.
