Vascular Specialist Zurich
Dr. Michael Szente-Varga is a specialist in surgery and founder of the Vascular Center Hirslanden Zurich as well as co-founder of the Aortic and Vascular Center Hirslanden Zurich. A major focus of his work is the treatment of enlarged thoracic and abdominal aorta (aneurysms) using so-called endovascular procedures. To date, he has treated well over 1,000 patients with endovascular aortic prostheses and is significantly involved in the ongoing development of these techniques.
__Career__
Dr. Michael Szente-Varga studied medicine in Zurich and completed his training as a specialist in surgery. For his specialization in vascular surgery, he additionally trained at the Vascular Surgery Department of UCSF in San Francisco, the Albany Medical College in New York, and the Thorax Clinic in Heidelberg. From 2000 to 2002, he was head of vascular surgery at the University Hospital Zurich and from 2002 to 2005 head of the vascular surgery department and co-head of surgery at the Cantonal Hospital Lucerne. Since 2006, he has been a consulting physician at Hirslanden Clinic and Klinik Im Park Zurich.
