Sebastian Wolf__ Board-certified surgeon FMH, subspecialty in visceral surgery FMH, EBSQ Surgical Oncology, EBSQ Abdominal Wall Surgery Dr Sebastian Wolf studied human medicine at Semmelweis University in Budapest and at the University of Ulm, where he also completed his doctoral thesis on gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST). He completed his surgical training in Switzerland at the hospitals of Frauenfeld, Zug and St. Gallen. He holds the FMH board certification in surgery with a subspecialty in visceral surgery, as well as the European certifications EBSQ in surgical oncology and EBSQ in abdominal wall surgery (F.E.B.S.). His main focus is the full range of visceral surgical treatments for benign and malignant diseases, particularly of the gastrointestinal tract, the abdominal wall, and both simple and complex hernias. During his more than 12 years at the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen, he developed comprehensive operative expertise and gained broad experience in treating the entire spectrum of visceral surgery. As Chief of Surgery and Head of the Department at the Hospital Network Appenzell Ausserrhoden (SVAR), he was most recently responsible for developing the surgical services in the canton and successfully established state-of-the-art surgical methods, such as robot-assisted surgery. He has extensive experience with the Intuitive da Vinci® Surgical System, particularly in colorectal surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction. Dr Sebastian Wolf places great importance on providing his patients with individual, competent and trustworthy care.
