### Presentation of the healthcare professional
Dr Alain Garcia is an FMH specialist in surgery, with extensive training in general and emergency surgery. He has been Chief of Surgery at the Ensemble hospitalier de la Côte (EHC) since 2005, treating a wide range of surgical pathologies, with particular expertise in general surgery, emergency surgery, laparoscopic surgery and endocrine surgery.
With a University Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg, Dr Garcia has developed recognized experience in the use of new surgical technologies. His career has taken him to the Institut de Recherche contre les Cancers de l'Appareil Digestif (IRCAD) and the Institut Européen de TeleChirurgie (EITS), where he has honed his skills in minimally invasive surgery and medical education.
Responsible for endocrine gland surgery at EHC for many years, he manages thyroid, parathyroid and other endocrine disorders requiring specialized surgical evaluation. He also directs the Center for Thyroid and Endocrine Surgery, created in 2025, which promotes coordinated care between endocrinologists, surgeons, ENT specialists and interventional radiologists.
Dr Garcia is also committed to the organization of care, medical training and the continuous improvement of patient safety. He has contributed to the development of ambulatory surgery, clinical itineraries, medical IT tools and institutional projects aimed at improving the quality of surgical care.
