### Presentation of the healthcare professional
André Witschi grew up in Büren an der Aare and completed his initial training as an electrician in Biel. After completing his federal baccalaureate while working, he studied human medicine at the Universities of Bern, Zurich and London. He obtained his doctorate in brain research at the University of Zurich and began his surgical career in the Biel/Bern region with extended stays in South Africa and at the University Hospital of Zurich, where he also qualified as a specialist in surgery in 2007. This was followed by several years as a senior consultant at Spitalzentrum Biel and Spital Tiefenau, as well as a fellowship at the Bariatric Center of the Beau Site Clinic in Bern. In 2018, he joined Dr. Jérôme Tschudi's practice as a partner, which he took over in 2019. His main areas of interest are the treatment of morbid obesity and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
