General internal medicine deals with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and long-term care of diseases in adults. It covers a broad spectrum of medical issues and supports patients with both acute complaints and chronic illnesses.

As a specialist in general internal medicine FMH, Prof. Dr. med. Corinne Chmiel cares for patients with illnesses across the entire spectrum of general medicine and internal medicine. Her focus is on targeted diagnostics and the development of individual treatment concepts that are tailored to the respective health needs. A particular focus of her work is the holistic and team-oriented care of people with multiple chronic illnesses and complex health challenges.

In addition to her clinical work, Prof. Dr. med. Corinne Chmiel is involved in medical research, the development of care models and the training and further education of doctors and other healthcare professionals. She has held the title of titular professor at the University of Zurich's Faculty of Medicine since 2022. She has also been Head of Science and Medical Treatment Innovation at mediX Switzerland since 2021.
