Preventive medicine is of central importance to me. Through my work in general medicine and neurology, I have seen impressively how many illnesses are only treated once irreversible damage has already occurred. It is precisely here that proactive medicine offers the opportunity to intervene at an early stage through targeted anamnesis, screening examinations and lifestyle interventions before a manifest disease develops.

In neurology, I became particularly aware of how serious the consequences of unrecognized or untreated risk factors can be - for example in the case of strokes, neurodegenerative diseases or vascular diseases of the nervous system. The identification of risk profiles, genetic predispositions and early clinical or subclinical signs plays a crucial role in not only diagnosing diseases earlier, but ideally preventing them altogether.
