Dr. med. Marc-Alain Portmann

Dr. Portmann completed his medical studies at the University of Bern in 2014. He received his doctorate in medicine that same year with the publication of his work on the influence of omega-3 fatty acids on human body weight. After an initial position as a military doctor and subsequent work as a junior doctor in a general practice, he worked at Langenthal Hospital in the Department of Internal Medicine and in the Emergency and Intensive Care Unit. Starting in 2016, he spent a year in the Emergency Department of Burgdorf Hospital, where he was responsible for the care of surgical and trauma patients. In 2017, he transferred to the Department of Internal Medicine at Inselspital, where he cared for both inpatients and outpatients. He eventually worked as a senior physician in the emergency department of Inselspital (Fast Track) before starting his work as a general practitioner at the Worb General Practice in November 2019.

Dr. Portmann took over the Worb General Practice in 2023 and runs it as practice owner together with Dr. von Muralt. Together, they pursue the goal of providing their patients with comprehensive, compassionate, and competent medical care.

Dr. Portmann is a physician and general internist with joy and enthusiasm. He loves working with people and has been committed to improving their quality of life since the beginning of his medical career. He is married and the father of three children. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and being outdoors.
