Dr. Silviu-Andrei Tomulescu 

As an FMH specialist in general internal medicine, I work at the Better & Beyond practice in Eaux-Vives. My role is to be your referral doctor: the one you consult for a one-off problem as well as for long-term follow-up, and who coordinates your care with other specialists when necessary.

I spent most of my training as a specialist at the University Hospitals of Geneva (Emergency Department and General Internal Medicine Service - SMIG), followed by a year in geriatrics and palliative care at the Hôpital du Jura, then a position as clinical head of internal medicine and intensive care at the Hôpital de Nyon (GHOL). My initial background was in psychiatry, before I switched to internal medicine during the COVID pandemic - a switch that left me with a lasting conviction: you don't care for an organ, you care for a person.

My practice is global and pragmatic. I rely on the most recent recommendations, but I also believe that the best treatment is the one that is understood, accepted and adapted to the patient's real life. In practical terms, this means that I take the time to explain, that I decide with you rather than for you, and that I am committed to prescribing only what brings real benefit - without superfluous tests or defensive treatments. In a system where costs are increasingly being passed on to patients, this is an essential commitment.

Areas of care: check-ups and prevention, follow-up of chronic illnesses, acute problems, travel medicine and vaccinations, hospital-ambulatory transition, care coordination for complex or multi-pathological situations, and support in situations where body and mind are closely linked.
