About me

Since I left Brazil in 2018, I’ve worked with many people who have moved to a new country or city— but I also see patients who have lived in the same place their whole lives. In both cases, people often seem to be looking for a sense of belonging—a theme that, in one way or another, tends to emerge when we seek therapy.

Sometimes the world around us changes too much —or something shifts within us—and we fear losing something or losing ourselves. Losing loved ones or cherished places, losing time or sanity, losing our sense of direction or connection to who we are. All of that can feel overwhelming and make it hard to picture or find our place in the world.

As a psychologist and psychoanalyst, a professional dedicated to health and care, I offer a space and time to welcome and name feelings, to associate thoughts in new ways, and to invent new paths and ways of being.

Having a background in music, I recognized in psychoanalysis a theory and technique that is sensitive to art and poetry—a method that values creativity, playfulness, and even humor. My clinical work aims to ease suffering, promote well-being, and help people reflect on and act upon the way they inhabit the world.

In addition to more well-known psychological themes (development, sexuality, personality, narcissism, anxiety, depression, grief), I also

research and work with topics such as migration, creativity, relationships, LGBTQIAP+ identities, and other contemporary issues.

Throughout my journey, I’ve come to understand that psychology and psychoanalysis don’t offer all the answers. On the contrary—they recognize the fundamental importance of other forms of knowledge, care, conditions, and relationships in sustaining what we call health (mental and physical). They also affirm the healing power of living life—especially when our most basic needs are being met.
