Mr Jérémy Apostolides

I am a psychoanalytically-oriented psychologist. I offer a space where anyone can come and talk about whatever is making them suffer or questioning them: anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, break-ups, feelings of emptiness, personal questioning or moments of crisis in life.

My practice is based on psychoanalysis, which considers that psychological suffering cannot be reduced to symptoms alone, but that it is often rooted in unconscious conflicts, in the subject's own history, and in the way it continues to be replayed in present-day life. Therapeutic work then consists in exploring these dynamics together, putting words to what is being repeated or what is causing suffering, in order to gradually allow greater inner freedom.

In my way of working, I attach great importance to listening, to the rhythm of each individual and to creating a safe space where words can unfold freely. For me, the therapeutic relationship is a privileged place for gaining a better understanding of the individual's modus operandi, internal conflicts and desires.

Alongside my academic career, I have also taken part in two ten-day Vipassana meditation retreats. Vipassana meditation is a traditional meditative practice that involves the careful observation of sensations, thoughts and emotions, in silence and with several hours of daily meditation. This experience has enabled me to develop a quality of presence, listening and attention to internal processes that now nourishes my clinical practice.
