His areas of expertise include running, gait analysis, and three-dimensional strength training. Physical therapy focuses on the treatment and prevention of pain, restricted movement, and functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Through active exercises, movement training, and manual treatment techniques, mobility, strength, coordination, and body awareness—among other things—can be improved. The goal is to support functional movement patterns and guide patients toward a mindful approach to their bodies. “For me, mindfulness is essential for recognizing habitual postural and movement patterns and learning new ways of moving. It takes a certain amount of persistence to bring about lasting change. I would like to accompany you on this journey.” In his therapeutic work, Joachim Altmann emphasizes conscious awareness of one’s own body. Recurring postural and movement patterns can lead to one-sided strain and affect physical well-being both in daily life and during sports. Together with his patients, he develops new movement strategies that can be gradually integrated into daily life and exercise routines. Spiral Dynamics serves as his anatomically oriented movement concept. It helps analyze three-dimensional movement sequences, identify unfavorable strain patterns, and specifically develop the body’s coordination. For runners, a complementary video analysis can help provide a nuanced view of running form and guide the development of personalized training approaches. His own experience in endurance and mountain sports shapes his approach to movement. After previously competing in Ironman triathlons, Joachim Altmann now participates in mountain marathons, mountain triathlons, obstacle courses, and city marathons, among other events. For him, being mindful of one’s own body, as well as recognizing and respecting physical limits, are important foundations for a long-term active lifestyle.
