Presentation of the healthcare professional

Graduating with a Master's degree in physiotherapy from the University of Louvain-La-Neuve (UCLouvain) in 2023, I offer vestibular rehabilitation sessions at the Centre AGeIR, located in the Balexert shopping center in Geneva. Passionate about movement and curious, I'm constantly learning in a field where a dozen scientific studies appear every day.

Several structures are involved in maintaining balance: the inner ear, vision, cervical proprioception and the central nervous system.

Each individual develops their own way of managing balance, depending on the importance they attach to information from these different systems.

Balance disorders occur when one of these information circuits is disrupted, or when the brain itself can no longer process the information correctly.

The inner ear acts as a detector of gravity and movement in the three dimensions of space. The data it transmits enable us to stabilize our vision and adapt our posture.

The most common symptoms are vertigo, dizziness or imbalance when walking. However, many sensations of discomfort are mistakenly referred to as vertigo.

The equipment we have at our disposal enables us to carry out a detailed and comprehensive analysis of your balance. Thanks to these tools, we can set up targeted rehabilitation protocols, adapted to each pathology and to your specific needs.

The exercises proposed are progressive and personalized. They can include virtual reality sessions using the Virtualis system to stimulate the various sensory systems, combined with a mobile platform, MotionVR. This exposes you to moving visual environments to reduce visual dependency, and creates voluntary disturbances that challenge your postural reactions to reinforce your stability.

We can also put you in everyday situations to reinforce your functional stability, working on walking or using a rotating chair.

The complexity of balance disorders (vertigo, instability) is often accompanied by a considerable psychological impact. While technology is necessary for accurate diagnosis, our professional and human qualities are crucial. We offer you a caring environment, where we listen and teach, because your recovery depends on comprehensive care.

Our support is aimed as much at re-educating your balance as at restoring your confidence in your abilities, an essential step towards lasting recovery.
