Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a primary healthcare profession, officially recognized and protected in Switzerland. Using manual techniques, the osteopath can treat and relieve musculoskeletal disorders (such as lower back pain, neck pain, upper back pain, jaw dysfunction, etc.), as well as other interconnected systems – for example the digestive system (constipation, digestive disorders…), the nervous system (migraines, tension headaches…), the urogenital system, and more. While relieving pain is a priority, identifying the root cause to prevent recurrence is just as important.

The approach is generally holistic, taking into account the individual as a whole – both physically and emotionally – as well as their environment. Osteopathy is suitable for all ages, from newborns to seniors, and at every stage of life.

My vision of osteopathy is to guide patients toward healing while empowering them to take an active role in their own health. But what is health? The WHO defines it as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

Your body is your vessel – and it is your responsibility to care for it. The environment in which this vessel navigates should not be overlooked either; it is important to take it into account and adapt it when necessary.

A session always begins with a detailed case history (your health and medical background), followed by observation and a manual examination to assess the situation. The treatment plan is then agreed upon together.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of the volatile compounds secreted by aromatic plants.

Its effects are broad: essential oils not only act on physical symptoms (like a natural medicine with pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, anti-infectious, or antispasmodic properties), but also reach the emotional level through their scents and the intrinsic properties of plants. Since our sense of smell is closely tied to emotions, aromatherapy can be a valuable tool to address certain physical complaints rooted in emotional or psychological issues.

Like osteopathy, aromatherapy considers symptoms within their context and underlying causes. The vast variety of essential oils provides countless possibilities – the approach is always tailored in collaboration with the patient, based on their history and specific needs.

Aromatherapy can support different systems, such as:

  • Musculoskeletal system (muscle spasms, back pain, tendonitis, etc.)
  • Digestive system (indigestion, bloating, constipation, etc.)
  • Respiratory system (colds, sinusitis, ear infections, hay fever, bronchitis, etc.)
  • Urinary system (urinary tract infections, prevention of recurrences, overactive bladder, etc.)
  • Gynecological system (PMS, yeast infections, painful periods, menopause-related issues, etc.)
  • Skin health (healing, eczema, psoriasis, etc.)
  • Cardiovascular system (improving circulation, venous return, etc.)
  • Stress management & relaxation
  • Pregnancy support & birth preparation
  • Pediatrics (infant colic, sleep difficulties, ENT issues, etc.)
  • Emotional well-being & sleep disorders
  • Chronic conditions & prevention
  • … and more.
