Dr. Emanuele Quarto 

Dr Emanuele Quarto is an orthopedic surgeon at the IRCCS Policlinico San Martino in Genoa, where he has been practicing since 2021 under the direction of Prof. M. Formica. He focuses on spine surgery.

After graduating in medicine and surgery from the University of Genoa (2013), he obtained his specialist diploma in orthopaedic surgery and traumatology in 2022. He then completed his training with several international fellowships in spine surgery: in Madrid (AO Spine, 2024), Bordeaux (Vertebra, 2021, with Prof. J.C. Le Huec) and Milan (Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi, 2018-2020).

Dr. Quarto has also acquired solid experience in Switzerland, first at Hôpital Riviera-Chablais in general surgery and orthopedics (2014-2015), then in Lausanne at CHUV in neurosurgery (2015-2016). This international training gives him in-depth expertise in the management of complex spinal pathologies.

At the end of 2025, Dr Emanuele Quarto joins the Ensemble Hospitalier de la Côte (EHC), strengthening the orthopedic and spine surgery team in the Lake Geneva region. His main focus is on spinal pathology, and his experience in hip replacement surgery gives him a comprehensive view of the spine-hip complex.

Scientific activities

As a lecturer at leading congresses such as the Global Spine Congress,EuroSpine and SICV & GIS, he has presented numerous papers on corrective surgery for spinal deformities, postoperative mechanical complications and innovative surgical approaches. A EuroSpine diploma winner (2022 and 2024), he remains actively involved in clinical research and teaching.
