TRAUMATOLOGY, SPORTS INJURY AND ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY

Initially a University Professor and Hospital Surgeon in Orthopedic and Traumatologic Surgery at the Lyon Academy and the University of Saint-Etienne (France), Professor Jean-Luc RHENTER currently practices in the French-speaking region of Switzerland along the Lake Geneva area, and occasionally in France and Italy, through the International Center for Traumatologic, Sports, and Orthopedic Surgery (CICOTS).

A pioneer in various fields of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, his experience and the surgical and preventive techniques he developed have earned him the role of surgeon for numerous elite athletes across all sports, including major football teams (Sampdoria of Genoa, AS Roma).

This allowed him to develop original surgical techniques for osteoarthritis, particularly in the knee and ankle, with cartilage grafts and custom-made prostheses, especially for the knee and hip.

He is also the originator of numerous other surgical techniques, some of which have achieved global recognition, such as:

• Dual mobility cups in hip prostheses
• Multi-bundle cruciate ligament repairs
• Meniscal grafts
• Repairs of the posterolateral support of the knee
• Repairs for ankle laxities
• Hallux Valgus corrections without metal implants
• Major repairs of the rotator cuff of the shoulder
