Dr. med. Reiner Emsberger

Dr. Reiner Emsberger, M.D., is an FMH-certified specialist in ophthalmology (eye medicine) and ophthalmic surgery and has been practicing at the Winterthur Eye Center since 2020. He has many years of clinical experience in ophthalmology and offers consultations in German and English.

Ophthalmology deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and functional disorders of the eyes. This includes, among other things, eye examinations, the evaluation of vision problems, and the diagnosis and treatment of various eye diseases. Ophthalmic surgery complements this specialty by providing surgical procedures on the eye when medically indicated.

After studying medicine at the Universities of Marburg and Ulm, Dr. Emsberger earned his doctorate in 1992 at the University of Ulm. From 1993 to 1998, he completed his residency at the Eye Clinic of the Krefeld Medical Center. He then worked at the Bucher AG Eye Clinic in Frauenfeld from 1999 to 2019. Since January 1, 2020, he has been working at the Winterthur Eye Center.
