Ophthalmology deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and functional disorders of the eye and the visual apparatus. Dr. Carla Tanner has extensive training and many years of experience in ophthalmology. She has been running her own practice, the Rafzerfeld Eye Practice in Hüntwangen, as a specialist in ophthalmology since January 2025. Prior to this, she worked for several years as an independent ophthalmologist at the Sonnenhof ophthalmology practice in Bülach, where she performed intravitreal injections and treated patients with various eye diseases.

Dr. Carla Tanner completed her specialist training at renowned Swiss eye clinics, including the Triemli City Hospital in Zurich, where she specialized in retinal diseases, and the St. Gallen Cantonal Hospital. During this time, she worked in numerous specialist consultations and gained experience in the areas of retina, cornea, glaucoma, uveitis, neuroophthalmology, eyelid and lacrimal duct diseases, laser treatments and the care of patients with diabetes or age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Her profile is complemented by her work at the Zug Surgical Clinic and various specialist further training courses.
