Dr. Gabrielius Zdanys 

Gabrielius Tomas Zdanys is a board-certified ophthalmologist with international clinical experience in Lithuania, Switzerland, Malta and the United Kingdom. He completed his specialist training at Santaros University Hospital in Vilnius, where he worked in outpatient care, laser therapy and the operating theatre, developing a strong interest in medical retinal diseases.

As part of the EBO exchange programme, he further deepened his expertise at St. Gallen Cantonal Hospital, particularly in retinal diagnostics under the supervision of Prof. Christophe Valmaggia. He also gained additional experience at the ophthalmology department of Mater Dei Hospital in Malta and at North Devon District Hospital in the United Kingdom.

His earlier work in neurosurgery and intensive care provides him with a solid understanding of complex clinical situations. He successfully passed the EBO examination, and his diploma has been recognised by MEBEKO since January 2025. Dr Zdanys places great importance on clear communication and an empathetic, patient-centred approach to care.
