## Therapist HES, graduated in 1992
I love my profession because occupational therapy is a patient-centered approach. It focuses on quality of life and adopts a positive view of the person in all their dimensions.
I worked for six years at the Payerne hospital in physical medicine and pediatrics, then did some temporary placements in Payerne and Fribourg, specializing in hand rehabilitation.
Since 2003, I have been working as an independent occupational therapist, both in the clinic and at home.
Native French speaker, I also speak English and have a working knowledge of Italian.
## __Areas of Practice__
We specialize in physical medicine.
- __Hand Rehabilitation__ When a hand injury temporarily or permanently limits the ability to act, rehabilitation helps regain or improve functionality.
- __Rheumatology__ In cases of rheumatic disease, joint pain or limitations lead to difficulties in daily functioning. Occupational therapy then helps to maintain independence.
- __Neurology__ Following a stroke or a progressive illness, occupational therapy enables individuals to regain or maintain optimal functioning in various areas of life.
- __Oncology__ Occupational therapy aims to help people facing cancer regain control of their lives despite the illness and its treatment side effects.

- __What is Occupational Therapy?__ Occupational therapy is for people whose health conditions lead to limitations in their ability to act or participate.
- __Occupational Therapy and Independence__ Its purpose is to achieve, improve, or maintain independence in daily activities, such as personal care, household or professional tasks, mobility, leisure, and social life.
- __The Occupational Therapist’s Approach__ The occupational therapist analyzes the patient's situation, considering the patient’s life goals, values, resources, and environment. We then propose measures for rehabilitation, readjustment, or environmental adaptation.
We offer treatments in French, German, Spanish, or English.
- __Coverage__ Occupational therapy is reimbursed by basic health insurance, as well as accident, disability, and military insurance, upon medical prescription.
