Dr. Hélène Weibel

Dr. Hélène Weibel is an experienced obstetric gynecologist, trained and practicing in Canada. A graduate in medicine and obstetrics gynecology from McGill University, Dr. Weibel continued her training with a specialization in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, which subsequently enabled her to set up a university practice focused on assisted reproduction.

Dr. Weibel has extensive experience in obstetrics and gynecology. Her commitment to medical leadership also led her to complete specialized training in leadership strategy in Lausanne. In addition to her clinical and academic career, she has held the position of Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) de l'Ouest de l'île de Montréal since 2021. Comprising three hospitals, this department is the one that performs the most deliveries in the province of Quebec, with over 10,000 births per year. Dr. Weibel led a team of 40 obstetrician-gynecologists.

Finally, Dr. Weibel has been deeply involved in training new physicians. She was course director at McGill's Faculty of Medicine, where she received several awards for the quality of her teaching.

Born in Moudon, Switzerland, before moving to Canada at a young age, Dr. Weibel wanted to return to her native country to bring her expertise and commitment to quality care. She chose the IHB for its human dimension and the development prospects offered by our hospital's gynecology-obstetrics department.
