Specialization in holistic women's medicine and ultrasound medicine
Dr. Saputra is a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics with a focus on prenatal medicine. His interdisciplinary approach combines Western conventional medicine with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), aesthetic medicine and basic psychosomatic care. He is the founder of the Mahameru Center for Gynaecology, TCM and Aesthetics in Frutigen (Switzerland).
Dr. Saputra is a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics with a focus on prenatal medicine. He is the founder of the Mahameru Center for Gynecology, TCM and Aesthetics in Frutigen (Switzerland).
Born in Jakarta (Indonesia) in 1987, Dr. Saputra grew up in his home town. After studying medicine, he moved directly to Germany, where he successfully passed the equivalency examination for his medical license - the so-called knowledge test in four medical disciplines.
He began his specialist training in gynecology and obstetrics in the German capital Berlin. To broaden his horizons, he later moved to a clinic in southern Thuringia under the direction of Dr. Matthias Schmidt. Dr. Schmidt, then newly appointed head physician of the Level I perinatal center, breast center, pelvic floor center and gynaecology department, took Dr. Saputra with him to his new place of work as the only member of his old team.
After successfully passing his specialist examination, Dr. Saputra was appointed senior physician. Under the guidance of Dr. Schmidt, he deepened his expertise in obstetrics and perinatal medicine. He specialized in gynaecological and obstetric ultrasound at an early stage. He obtained his DEGUM Level II (German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine) ultrasound certificate in 2020 at the Department of Obstetrics at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin under the supervision of Prof. Dr. med.
At the same time, Dr. Saputra completed his doctorate at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena on surgical obstetric cerclage to prevent premature births. He also completed two consecutive Master's programs in Nuremberg and Jena:

His love of learning and teaching remains with him to this day.
After Dr. Schmidt's retirement, Dr. Saputra moved to the University Hospital Marburg, Campus Fulda, to continue his training in gynaecological oncology. In 2022, he was appointed chief physician at Linth Hospital in Switzerland. He then took on the role of site manager for gynecology and obstetrics at Frutigen Hospital.
Despite his young age, Dr. Saputra has already held several management positions in Germany and Switzerland. He also shows great commitment in Switzerland: among other things, he holds a colposcopy diploma (Basel) as well as certificates for ultrasound and practice laboratory.
Following the closure of the maternity ward at Frutigen Hospital, Dr. Saputra continues to be committed to providing reliable gynaecological care in the Kandertal - through his establishment and founding of the Mahameru Centre.
Dr. Saputra has international clinical experience - as a speaker at specialist congresses in Europe, through academic teaching and through humanitarian missions in Africa.
