The human body is a marvel. An impressive system that is unfortunately also susceptible to disease or dysfunction. Because this fascinates me, studying medicine was quickly shortlisted after my A-levels. Not least because my mother was a gynecologist and influenced me. During my time at school and university, women's issues increasingly came into focus and I became a staunch advocate for women's rights and for women's perceptions to be taken seriously. That was my path into gynecology and obstetrics.

Even today, I am still impressed and moved by the discovery of new life when I carry out pregnancy ultrasound examinations. I also find the menopause a fascinating transition in a woman's life.

Openness and a little humility in the face of life are important to me. It is also important to me to find simple solutions to alleviate illness or discomfort and to influence the patient's well-being as positively as possible, especially with regard to her self-confidence and identity as a woman.

It's nice to see when the patient leaves the practice a little lighter than when she arrived.

My free time belongs to my family, books and the forest. Simply places and encounters where I can find peace and relax.
