PROF. DR. MED. GABRIEL SCHÄR

I can look back on a total of 26 years in leading positions at two renowned hospitals: first as Head of the Women's Clinic at Aarau Cantonal Hospital and then as Head of the Gynecology Clinic at Zurich University Hospital.

My interest in medicine has remained unbroken since my specialist training. Women's medicine inspires me with its versatility: it encompasses health and illness, prevention and advice and accompanies women at every stage of life - from adolescence to old age. Fortunately, I am physically and mentally fit and therefore not yet thinking about retirement.

My areas of expertise include pelvic floor problems (such as prolapse and incontinence), gynaecological tumors and endometriosis. Obtaining a second opinion is playing an increasingly important role today. I see it as one of my central tasks to provide patients with competent advice based on my many years of expertise. My experience enables me to keep a cool head even in difficult situations - in all circumstances.

I live in Aarau with my wife and our children are now grown up. We share a passion for gardening, are adventurous and enjoy both sporting and cultural activities.
