## Dr. Wolfgang Dent
"I have gained my professional experience in completely contrasting places and cultures. But no matter where my work took me, it was always about helping people."
__From Innsbruck to Tanzania, from Bangkok to Zurich and back.__
I studied medicine in Innsbruck. I wrote my doctoral thesis entitled "Prevalence of migraine and other types of headache in a rural region of southern Tanzania using a door-to-door survey" during a six-month stay in Africa. After graduating, I spent a year in Thailand, where I trained in tropical medicine (DTM&H, MCTM) at Mahidol University in Bangkok.
After returning from Asia, I trained as a general practitioner at the St. Johann District Hospital in Tyrol. I completed my neurology training at the Neurological Clinic Bad Aibling (Bavaria), at the University Hospital in Zurich and at the Schlössli Private Clinic in Oetwil am See (Canton of Zurich). At the University Hospital in Zurich, I worked for over three years as a senior physician in the neurological intensive care unit. Since 2013, I have been working as an attending physician at the Lengg Clinic in Zurich, formally the Swiss Epilepsy Center. In 2014 & 2015, I was in charge of the EpiWohnWerk, a facility for people with mental and multiple disabilities, as a senior physician. Since 2015, I have been working at the Hirslanden Headache Center and the Neurorehabilitation Center at Klinik Lengg in Zurich. Since 2015, I have also been working in my practice in St. Johann in Tirol, as the center of my family's life has moved to Tirol. I live there with my wife and our three sons.
I am a lecturer for the Swiss Professional Association for Neurophyisological Diagnostics (SFND). I am also a member of the Austrian, German and Swiss Neurological Societies and the Austrian Headache Society.
