The Degen Ophthalmology Practice offers comprehensive ophthalmological examinations and treatments for conditions affecting all parts of the eye. Ophthalmology focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of vision and eye disorders, as well as the maintenance of visual health in children and adults.

The practice’s range of services includes general ophthalmological examinations, diagnostic

evaluations for vision loss, as well as examinations for cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal diseases such as age-related macular degeneration or retinal vascular occlusions. The practice also performs strabismus evaluations for children, including vision therapy. The practice also cares for patients with eye conditions related to systemic diseases such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, or rheumatic conditions.

Another area of focus is modern corneal diagnostics using the Pentacam to analyze and rule out keratoconus. Muscle paralysis and other functional visual impairments are also carefully evaluated.

Laser treatments, such as capsulotomy following cataract surgery, are performed on an outpatient basis at the practice. Surgical procedures—particularly cataract surgeries as well as minor eyelid and conjunctival procedures—are performed in collaboration with the Zurich Outpatient Eye Surgery Center in a modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art surgical technology.
