HISTORY

In 1997, Prof. Zollinger founded the specialized practice for foot and ankle surgery in Zurich.

Previously, he served as Chief of Orthopaedics at the Balgrist University Hospital in Zurich.

Upon reaching retirement age, Prof. Zollinger handed over the practice to a highly qualified successor with the same specialization: Privatdozent Dr. med. Arno Frigg, a specialist in foot and ankle surgery.

He habilitated at the University of Basel on the biomechanics of the ankle and foot, where he is also an active lecturer and received much of his training. His subspecialty training included work at the University of Calgary, Canada, as well as fellowships at various U.S. universities.

Prof. Dr. med. Frigg has received numerous national and international awards and scholarships.

From 2009 to 2012, he was Deputy Head of the Foot Team at the University of Basel.

In 2019, he was appointed Professor of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Musculoskeletal System at the University of Basel.
