Central-Praxis AG looks back on a long tradition. The practice at Weinbergstrasse 26 has been run by gastrointestinal specialists since 1959. In 1959, Dr. Felix Fierz – at the time the highest-ranking doctor in Zurich (President of the Zurich Medical Association) – opened the practice at Weinbergstrasse 26 as a gastrointestinal specialist. As a guild speaker and, above all, as Switzerland's first TV doctor, he gained enormous popularity. In 1981, Dr. Andreas Dolder took over the practice at Central and continued the tradition as a gastroenterologist for over 31 years until 2012, when his son Dr. Mathias Dolder – also a gastroenterologist – took over the practice. In the following years, the practice grew both in staff and space. In 2020, a second practice location was established in Oerlikon. Three years later, the practice was moved from Weinbergstrasse to the spacious and modern location at Löwenstrasse 32 in 8001 Zurich.
