The services are aimed at both recreational and competitive athletes. Sports psychology focuses on the psychological factors that can influence athletic performance, motivation, concentration, and well-being. These include, for example, coping with performance pressure and nervousness, mental preparation for competitions, building self-confidence and the ability to concentrate, as well as support during difficult training or competition phases. Sports psychology support can also play a role in connection with injuries, rehabilitation, or returning to sports. Depending on the individual’s situation, mental strategies can be developed to help define personal goals and cope with athletic demands. At __the Medical Center Wankdorf in Bern__, sports psychology is integrated into an interdisciplinary setting. When necessary, collaboration can take place with departments such as sports medicine, orthopedics and traumatology, sports physical therapy, performance diagnostics, as well as prevention and check-ups.
