La Tour Hospital’s Maternal Medicine Unit provides care for pregnant women with pre-existing medical conditions or those developing during pregnancy. This medical specialty focuses on the interaction between maternal diseases and pregnancy, ensuring the safety of both mother and baby.

Consultations address conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders, and autoimmune diseases. The team also monitors pregnancy-related complications like preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and hyperemesis gravidarum.

Care includes pre-conception counselling and postnatal follow-up up to three months after delivery. Patients may be referred by a specialist or can book an appointment directly.

The unit works in coordination with other departments, including obstetrics, endocrinology, reproductive medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, and neonatology.
