### Presentation of the healthcare professional
Dr __Serge Félix__, an FMH specialist in __general internal medicine__ with in-depth training in __geriatrics__, will start working at EHC's North-South Medical Center in December 2025. With over twenty-five years' experience in hospitals, he has developed expertise in acute geriatrics, geriatric rehabilitation and palliative care in a number of institutions in French-speaking Switzerland.
General internal medicine focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and follow-up of adult illnesses, integrating a cross-disciplinary vision of health. Geriatrics is concerned with the assessment and overall management of the elderly, including mobility, memory, autonomy and care coordination. These areas enable Dr. Félix to offer appropriate support to both adults and the elderly.
After obtaining a federal diploma from the University of Lausanne in 1997, his post-graduate career took place in several regional hospitals, before specializing in geriatrics in Geneva, Chamblon and the CHUV, where he worked as head of clinic in the Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Department. He was then appointed Chief Physician at the Centre de traitement et de réadaptation Riviera-Chablais (HRC) from 2010 to 2024, and at the Hôpital intercantonal de la Broye (HIB) from 2024.
His areas of activity include adult general internal medicine, geriatrics and geriatric rehabilitation, palliative care, as well as memory consultation and intra-hospital coordination. Dr. Félix sees patients from the age of 16, with a particular focus on continuity of care.
