Presentation of the healthcare professional

Anne Engamba; Educational Psychologist and Special Education Teacher, holder of a master’s degree in child developmental psychology from the University of Lyon and a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education (MAEPS) from the University of Geneva, I specialize in supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and learning difficulties.

For over 10 years, I have been working with children, adolescents, and young adults with a variety of profiles and needs, including autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), specific learning disabilities (DYS), as well as cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and relational difficulties.

My professional experience has allowed me to work in various institutional, educational, and therapeutic settings with clients, their families, and educational teams.

I offer individualized interventions based on a cognitive, psychological, and psychopedagogical approach.

My areas of expertise:

Support for neurodevelopmental and learning disorders

I offer individualized support aimed at better understanding each person’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, identifying their strengths and challenges, and then developing strategies tailored to their needs.

My interventions focus in particular on the development of cognitive and executive functions: attention, working memory, inhibition, mental flexibility, planning, reasoning, and meaning-making.

They also aim to strengthen comprehension, communication, social skills, emotional and behavioral self-regulation, and independence in activities of daily living.

Depending on the individual’s needs, the work may also focus on developing language skills, functional communication, and the coordination and organization of motor skills, in collaboration with the relevant specialized professionals.

My approach is based on setting individualized, concrete, and progressive goals, enabling each person to draw on their abilities, develop new skills, and gain greater independence.

Learning Support and Academic Guidance

I support children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with learning, school organization, understanding instructions, reasoning skills, or motivation toward schoolwork.Psychoeducational interventions aim to identify the cognitive processes involved in the difficulties encountered, develop appropriate learning strategies, and build the child’s or adolescent’s confidence in their own abilities.

I can also work in collaboration with schools, teachers, and other professionals involved in the child’s educational journey to ensure consistency in interventions and support the implementation of an individualized educational plan.

The goal is to enable each young person to make progress in their learning while developing their independence, adaptability, and active participation in school life.

Career Guidance, Entry, and Reentry

I also support adolescents, young adults nearing the end of their schooling or training, and adults seeking a career change or reentry into the workforce.

This support is particularly aimed at individuals who struggle to identify their skills, define a career path, organize their next steps, or mobilize their resources to access training or employment.

Through individualized coaching, I help identify each person’s interests, abilities, skills, and needs in order to develop a realistic, coherent career plan tailored to their profile.

Sessions may focus on self-awareness, identifying transferable skills, decision-making, planning next steps, organization, professional communication, and developing independence.

The goal is to empower each person to take charge of their own path, build confidence in their abilities, and mobilize their resources to bring their career plan to fruition.

Parental Support and Collaboration with the Support Network

I also offer support to parents who wish to better understand how their child functions and develop strategies tailored to their child’s needs.

This work may take the form of interviews, parenting coaching sessions, or joint sessions with the child and their parents.

The goal is to foster mutual understanding, adapt daily interactions and situations, support the development of communication and independence, and strengthen consistency across the child’s various living environments.

My Professional Approach:

My approach is based on a holistic and individualized understanding of the person, their cognitive functioning, their resources, and the challenges they face in their environment.

I prioritize concrete, structured interventions tailored to each individual’s needs, involving the person receiving support and, when appropriate, their family and the professionals in their support network.

My goal is to enable each person to better understand their own functioning, develop their skills, and mobilize their resources in order to gain independence and make progress in their personal, academic, or professional endeavors.
