Ms Lisa Schwaninger 

The combination of differential diagnostic thinking, manual work and intensive contact with patients is what excites me about chiropractic. It is motivating to be able to witness the direct successes that we can achieve together with our patients.

I completed the six-year course in chiropractic medicine at the University of Zurich. The first four years of study are identical to the study of human medicine, with the addition of chiropractic-specific courses. In the fifth year you specialize in chiropractic and in the sixth year you work as a junior assistant in the hospital. As part of the practice-oriented sixth year, I gained experience in the fields of orthopaedics, rheumatology, neurology, sports medicine, internal medicine and radiology for six months at Balgrist University Hospital. In the second half of the year, I worked in the teaching clinic for chiropractic medicine at Balgrist.

By studying together with the human medicine students and during the practical year, I was able to acquire interdisciplinary medical knowledge in order to provide my patients with the best possible care. The manual skills that are the essence of chiropractic are also trained intensively from the first year onwards.

In my free time, I am active in sports such as volleyball and fitness, or can be found hiking in the mountains. I also sing in a choir and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
